Jean-Marc Ueberecken holds a Master's degree in law (Licence en droit) from the Université Catholique de Louvain (Belgium), as well as a Master of Laws degree (LL.M.) in banking and finance law from the King's College London (U.K.).

Jean-Marc Ueberecken is a partner in the Corporate Law – M&A Practice. He concentrates his practice on the provision of advice to multinational companies and large U.S. and U.K. based private equity and non-regulated real estate funds. He advises clients in connection with mergers and acquisitions, complex international corporate restructurings, leveraged buy-outs, corporate finance and the structuring and implementation of exit strategies.

He served as member and as secretary of the governing body (Conseil de l'ordre) of the Luxembourg Bar from 2004 until 2006.

He has been a member of the Luxembourg Bar since 1998 and was a member of the Brussels Bar from 2000 to 2008. Jean-Marc Ueberecken is a lecturer in leveraged buy outs at the University of Luxembourg. He was a lecturer in legal methodology from 2000 until 2006, in finance law from 2003 until 2006, in commercial and corporate law from 2002 until 2004 and in general jurisprudence from 2005 until 2007 at the same university. Jean-Marc Ueberecken is an active member of the UIA (Union Internationale des Avocats), acting as national reporter for the corporate law commission. He has further been a speaker and panelist at several UIA seminars on corporate law and M&A transactions.
