Formation:
Philippe-Emmanuel Partsch holds a Licence en Droit from the Université de Liège (Belgium). He holds a Doctorate in Law from the Université de Liège and from the Université Robert Schuman de Strasbourg (France).
Fonctions actuelles:
Philippe-Emmanuel Partsch is the partner in charge of the European and Competition Law Practice. He specialises in competition law and European banking and financial law and advises a wide range of public and private clients, both nationally and internationally, on EU and competition law and sectoral regulation. This includes EU and Luxembourg competition law, EU aspects of mergers and acquisitions, complaints and notifications to competition regulators, state aid, banking and financial law, tax law, telecommunications, public procurement and environmental law.
Anciennes fonctions:
Prior to joining Arendt & Medernach, he was legal Secretary at the European Court of Justice.
Autres fonctions:
He has been a member of the Brussels Bar since 1991 and has been admitted by the Luxembourg Bar. He practices in Luxembourg under his Belgian professional title. He is Professor of European Banking and Financial Law at the Université de Liège (Belgium), and also visiting Professor at the Université du Luxembourg from the academic year 2007-2008. He is the author of numerous contributions in European Law, company law and arbitration law and of a book entitled Le droit international privé européen, De Rome à Nice (European Private International Law, From Rome to Nice), which was published by Larcier in 2003. He regularly publishes papers in the field of European Banking and Financial Law, notably a report of the case-law of ECJ and CFI on this field. He is about to publish a book on european banking and financial law.
